280M is a global collaboration of individuals, organizations, communities, and grassroots movements—entirely powered by volunteers and community—and united by a shared understanding:

• Only global, nonviolent, people-powered collective action can deliver the comprehensive systems change required to secure a livable future for all.

• History shows that when just 3.5% of the population is actively engaged, transformative change becomes inevitable.

• 3.5% of today’s world is 280 million people.

We are not starting from zero. We already have the numbers—amazing people doing amazing work across climate justice, labor, racial justice, Indigenous sovereignty, disability rights, food systems, democracy movements, feminist organizing, and beyond.
